started out as a volunteer in civil society working to promote transparency, equal rights and human rights. During a period of financial difficulty, he turned to growing rice, an essential activity in the Menabe region. He discovered agriculture and benefited from the support of a farmers' association, which he joined. Thanks to the association, he gained access to agricultural equipment and inputs, such as a power tiller and organic fertiliser. Inspired by this experience, Bienvenu founded an association in June 2024 called JADEV (Jeunes Actifs pour le Développement). This association aims to support its young members while contributing to rural development and the well-being of the whole community.
By joining the ERA team in the Mahabo district, Bienvenu aims to raise awareness among farmers and associations of the importance of adopting environmentally-friendly farming techniques and encouraging them to choose natural inputs instead of agrochemicals, while demonstrating the benefits of these agroecological practices.
