After working for 15 years as a Sales Manager in the retail sector, everything changed for Danny with the COVID crisis: like many others he lost his job. From one day to the next, he found himself with no income, no prospects and no future. Danny turned to agribusiness thanks to a friend who helped him to join a fruit processing company in the town of Ambanja, in the north of Madagascar. They then set up the farmers’ association DR NEGOCE, which works to promote agricultural entrepreneurship by acting as an advisory and support structure for young entrepreneurs and farmers. Thanks to DR NEGOCE, 3 businesses have been set up, including SOALAOKO, which makes the most of local fishery resources by processing fish and fishery waste.
As an ERA, Danny and his team intend to diversify the activities of their association, which they plan to transform into an NGO to share and develop agroecological practices with farmers in the region to improve their production and profitability.
