obtained a degree in Agronomic Sciences, specialising in Agricultural Management from UMAGIS Bevalala and then worked on a voluntary basis to support young Catholic farmers in Analamanga region.
After that he joined MITAFA association as a site manager in the Ankazobe district of Analamanga. This work was part of an initiative financed by the FID (Fond d'Intervention pour le Développement), which aimed to support vulnerable small-scale farmers by helping them to develop their farms and improve access to good nutrition and markets. Joel is currently an entrepreneur and farmer in Meanabe region.
He also works with the PURPA project to disseminate seeds in several communes in Miandrivazo district. Now though he plans to concentrate more on his entrepreneurial activities, as Joel and his team are involved in developing natural soil fertilisation techniques such as basket compost and the production of natural fertilisers such as liquid compost. Thanks to the Digisoft smart projector and the Access Agriculture video library, he plans to grow his business while promoting agroecology in his area.
