Co-founder of Access Agriculture, Paul Van Mele has been voted in as Chair of the organisation for a further 3 years. He will be supported by Vice-Chair, Mary Kamau, former director of Extension Services at Kenya’s Agriculture Ministry, and Treasurer, Alphan Njeru, a retired senior partner with PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers) Kenya.
The international NGO has also seen a transition from founding Executive Secretary Bob Muchina to the new holder of the post, Nelson Ojijo who joined from FARA (Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa) in Accra, Ghana.
The Board thanked Bob Muchina for his devotion in building up the organisation from initial registrationto a leading global service provider enabling access to a rich repository of quality farmer-to-farmer training videos in more than 75 languages. Bob will continue his endeavours to strengthen extension service providers as Chairman of KEFAAS (the Kenyan Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services).
The Governing Board also approved Access Agriculture’s new Strategic Plan which will guide the organisation to strengthen its partnerships and activities over the next five years.
