Organic agriculture knowledge resources available in local languages

Organic agriculture

A webinar titled « Ressources disponibles sur l'agriculture biologique en langues locales » (Organic agriculture knowledge resources available in local languages) was organised on 14 September 2023 by Access Agriculture Local Engagement team for Francophone partners, especially from the Knowledge Centres for Organic Agriculture (KCOA) in Africa project funded by GIZ. A similar webinar for our Anglophone partners was held in May 2023.

The objectives of both the webinars were to raise awareness of the wide range of farmer training videos available in local languages, as well as related factsheets and audio files, and also share experiences of Entrepreneurs of Rural Access (ERAs), so that partners can make effective use of these resources in their farmer training activities. Both the webinars had active participation and engagement from the audience and were well appreciated for their informative content.

Webinars included presentation of the EcoAgtube platform, where they can upload and share their own video clips related to organic farming.

KCOA is part of the “One World - No Hunger” initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is being implemented in all regions of Africa through knowledge hubs and partners. The first phase started in 2019 and ends in 2023. The overall goal is to create an innovative strategy for promoting organic agriculture throughout Africa.
