Jean Paul holds a series D baccalaureate, he studied economics at the University of Antananarivo for a year, then trained in agriculture in 2018 within the FORMA PROD network where his interest in agriculture grew. He then began selling rice and bean seeds as well as transporting local food products by river, such as rice, corn and beans. 

The bean sector is particularly fascinating for Jean Paul because his district of Miandrivazo is one of the largest bean producers in Madagascar. As part of an ERA team there, he intends to popularise and apply the techniques of bean cultivation and natural conservation, including growing associated crops for protection against pests.
