Rommel is an agricultural technician specialising in fishing and aquaculture, and also has experience in agro-sylvo-pastoralism. He has over 7 years experience in rural development projects, and has helped producers obtain ECOCERT certification for organic products, in particular for pink berries (red pepper) in south-east Madagascar.
Rommel is currently a facilitator/technician in an umbrella farmers' organisation, working in collaboration with GIZ/ProSol to disseminate sustainable land management (SLM) and agro-ecological practices in the Ambato-Boeny district in north-west Madagascar.
Rommel and his team intend to use all their experience assisted by the smart projector, to facilitate the transition of his organisation's member farmers to agroecology and enable other farmers to follow suit.
