| Double gift for young changemakers in Uganda | |
| The year 2025 started on a happy note for six new teams of Entrepreneurs for Rural Access (ERA) Uganda, as they received a much-anticipated visit from Ezra Masolaki, Access Agriculture ERA Coach for Uganda. Each team also received a durable Buffalo Bicycle to help them in their work towards supporting the transition of rural farmers to agroecology through video training. The six ERA teams are operating as part of the ‘Global Programme for Small-scale Agroecology Producers and Sustainable Food Systems Transformation Project’ (GP-SAEP), which is being implemented by the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) with funding from the European Union. Access Agriculture is a partner of this programme relating to access to knowledge and empowerment. Read more ... | |

| Spotlight on a young changemaker: Abhishekam Vathala from India | |
| Abhishekam Vathala, who with his wife Jasmin Sri Rama, is pioneering a rural bio-input resource centre (BRC) model in Andhra Pradesh, India, received the prestigious Dr. I. V. Subbarao Rythu Nestham award 2024 for progressive farmers from the former Vice-President of India M Venkaiah Naidu, in recognition of his excellent service and contribution to the promotion of natural farming among farmers. In their role as Entrepreneurs for Rural Access (ERAs) associated with the Centre for Sustainable Agriculture (CSA), Abhishekam and Jasmin have screened farmer training videos to over 800 participants, including over 300 women and 173 participants below 15 years. The videos have helped to promote their products, which reached more than 8,000 organic farmers across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Screening videos, such as A participatory guarantee system (PGS), boosted their sales of bio-inputs by 35%. They were able to successfully obtain a collateral-free loan of over 27,500 Euros from a government scheme to scale up their BRC unit into a fully commercial venture. “We realised the value of the smart projector as an effective tool to reach more farmers in a short period and we also show the videos in schools as we believe children will effectively communicate the natural farming practices to their parents.” - Abhishekam Vathala Abhishekam and Jasmin have been featured in Access Agriculture’s book “Young changemakers". | Donate to Support young changemakers in India | |
| Through this project, we anticipate the growth of a network of empowered young women entrepreneurs in rural India. They will not only provide for themselves and their families but will also bring to the local women farmers, a wealth of new ideas from around the world to improve their lives. This will contribute to the transformation of the food system in the local communities, leading to healthier diets, sustainable livelihoods and a reduction of agriculture's environmental impact.
Please be one of the wonderful people to make a donation at GlobalGiving and share this opportunity with your friends. Help us raise funds for our current campaign!

| Record-keeping for integrated farming | |
| As the number of enterprises on a farm increases, it becomes harder to keep track of the cost of inputs and the revenues earned. Keep detailed records to see how your farm evolves over time. By comparing different farms of similar size with fellow farmers, you can decide if changing any of your practices is a good decision. You may feel that an integrated organic farm involves more work, but from the records we have seen that the profit can be six times higher. It also provides greater food security. He helps to produce a show called Granizo Blanco (white hail), a dramatic name in this part of the Andes, where hail can devastate crops in a moment.
