يتم التطعيم عن طريق وضع فرع صغير من فصيلة جيدة من المانجو على ساق الشتلة. ينبت عن الشتلة جذور وقاعدة الشجرة. وهو ما يسمى بجذع الشجرة. ويسمى الجزء الصغير الذي يتم تطعيمه على الجذع باسم بالطعم. وهو ما يتطور بدوره وينمو ليكون أغصان الشجرة.
