Access Agriculture is delighted to announce the launch of its Arabic-language platform to better serve its Arabic-speaking community. This will expand its reach and resources, especially to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, which is extremely vulnerable to climate change.
The launch of the Arabic platform marks a significant step for Access Agriculture making it more accessible to millions of Arabic-speaking agricultural practitioners. This move breaks the language barriers that prevented easy access to the wealth of information on the platform.
Access Agriculture is a global public service provider that supports South-South learning on agroecology through quality training videos in local languages. The video library includes nearly 200 videos in Arabic language on organic, ecological and regenerative farming practices, food processing, marketing, social organisation and local entrepreneurship, among others.
“We hope that this platform will be a powerful tool for our Arabic-speaking partners, especially rural women and youth, to enhance their resilience to climate change and improve incomes,” said Josephine Rodgers, Executive Director of Access Agriculture.
“The Arabic platform will be particularly useful for our young changemakers in several Arabic-speaking countries, who have been equipped with digital tools and skills by Access Agriculture to help them run a business bringing videos to farmers using a solar-powered smart projector,” Josephine added.
Arabic is the world’s fifth most spoken language and the fourth most used language on the internet. In addition to Arabic, Access Agriculture’s multi-language platform includes Bangla, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese and Spanish interfaces, highlighting the organisation’s reach across the Global South.
The Arabic platform will be constantly updated with the latest content, including videos, audio tracks, factsheets, newsletters, blog posts and information on events as well as the range of services and engagement opportunities offered by Access Agriculture.
